If you’d like to grow your skills, this course is a practical introduction to various elements of horticulture, with a focus on landscaping skills like turf maintenance and how to prepare areas for both hard and soft landscaping.

You’ll work in the college's purpose-built classrooms, workshops and glasshouses, which is the ideal learning environment to help you progress into a career in horticulture and gardening. As part of the programme, you’ll also gain a National Progression Award and an SVQ Level 1 certificate in Horticulture, recognised by employers.

Units include: Preparation of landscape areas; Construction of landscape areas; Maintaining landscape areas; Lawn care; Brickwork; Use of tools and machinery; Horticultural skills; Plant identification; Path construction; Allotment gardens.
