This BSc in Statistical Data Science covers both the theory and practical parts of modern statistics. It provides comprehensive training and hands-on experience in modelling, analysing, and understanding real-world data. This kind of data is crucial in the fields of the economy, industry, and research.

The early years of the degree cover basic mathematics, probability, and statistics. The final years focus on advanced specialist topics in statistical modelling, data science, machine learning, probability, and stochastic processes. Students also have the opportunity to spend time at Heriot-Watt's Malaysia campus through our Go Global programme.

Entry Requirements

2027 entry requirements:
4 Highers at ABBB (Standard entry) or BBBC (Widening access entry) including Maths plus English at National 5.

For entry to year 2 you would require 3 Advanced Highers at ABB including Maths and Computing Science plus above.
