HNC Applied Science builds on your learning at higher level biology and chemistry to develop the essential practical laboratory skills and theoretical knowledge required for further study at university and employment in the life science sectors.

Contents Include:
Biology; Microbiology; DNA and genetics; Human body: Structure and function; Chemistry; Mathematics and statistics; Laboratory skills

Entry Requirements

Higher Biology (or Human Biology) or Chemistry plus National 5 English and Maths and Chemistry or Biology (whichever is not held at Higher) at A or B; or Foundation Apprenticeship Scientific Technologies (Laboratory Skills); or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

Progression Routes

HND Applied Biological Science (Biomedical Route) or a range of scientific degrees through articulation routes with universities.
