Robert Gordon University

Year 1 (CertHE Life Sciences):
Your personal and professional development PPD commences from the outset of the course within an interprofessional learning (IPL) module, which is this then contextualised to Dietetic practice. You’ll study theory that underpins nutrition and the practice of dietetics, and develop professional skills, attitudes and ethics within the context of a variety of learning experiences.

Year 2 (DipHE Nutrition and Health Studies):
You’ll assume greater responsibility for your own learning; facilitated by greater use of student-led seminars and workshops. Shared IPL learning outcomes support the provision of opportunities for formative shared student learning experiences. Teaching emphasises application of theory, development of evidenced-based practice and reasoning skills in relation to professional practice and contemporary settings.

Year 3 (BSc Nutrition and Health Studies):
You’ll continue to assume responsibility for your learning with greater emphasis on self-directed learning and teamwork. There is increasing focus on the development of self-management, clinical reasoning, teamwork, entrepreneurship, critical reading and the development of research skills in Dietetics. You’ll apply cognitive and evaluative skills to the appraisal of current practice within your IPL-facilitated placement.

Year 4 (Master of Dietetics):
You’ll focus on the development of enhanced professional and transferable knowledge and skills to support future professional practice and employability. You’ll work with IPL opportunities to develop interdisciplinary team-working, leadership, service improvement, project management and research skills applicable to evidenced based professional practice.
