The BSc (Hons) Applied Biological Sciences degree offers interdisciplinary training in contemporary biological sciences subjects, including animal and plant biology, cellular and molecular biology, and biotechnology. There is a strong focus on developing practical skills and will appeal to those with a desire to pursue a range of careers, including in bioscience industries such as within healthcare or biotechnology.

The degree is taught jointly at Forth Valley College (Falkirk Campus) and Heriot-Watt University, and also receives input from employers across the Scottish life sciences community. Students will spend their first two years at Forth Valley College, completing HND Applied Biological Sciences. Students progress to Heriot-Watt University for a further two or three years.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers at BB including Biology plus English, Maths and Chemistry or Physics at National 5; or Foundation Apprenticeship Scientific Technologies (Laboratory Skills plus 1 Higher plus English, Maths and Chemistry or Physics at National 5. Interview.
