Content

Science shapes the world around us, from everyday technology to medical breakthroughs. The National Certificate in Applied Sciences is ideal if you enjoy science but are unsure whether chemistry, biology or physics is right for you. The course introduces you to all three areas while developing practical laboratory and investigative skills.

At SCQF level 6, you will study a range of units including physics, chemistry, biology, biotechnology, microbiology and environmental science, with a strong focus on hands-on practical work. You will also develop mathematical and research skills relevant to scientific study.

Successful completion allows progression to HNC Applied Sciences or related courses, university study in science-based subjects, or employment in roles such as laboratory assistant or trainee Technician.
