The field of computing continues to evolve and data science has emerged as a growth area in recent years. This course meets the future demands in industry for handling and the use of complex data in a safe and effective manner, extracting value data which can then be used in strategic decision making.

You will learn about how to store and manage different types of data, how to draw insights from data using a range of techniques including Machine Learning, and how to present insights to your target audience with data visualisation tools. The course particularly emphasises the use of Artificial Intelligence for extracting meaning from data, amongst other uses, and builds towards cutting edge, research led approaches to Machine Learning and other aspects of Artificial Intelligence.

2027 entry requirements
Standard entry: 4 Highers at BBCC plus National 5 English and Maths (if not held at Higher).

Widening access entry: 3 or 4 Highers at BCC/CCCC plus National 5 English and Maths (if not held at Higher).
