Year 1:
You will study Global Challenges for Business and The Business of Edinburgh which introduce key concepts of management and business including strategy, finance, marketing and the management of people. You will also study Accountancy 1A, an Introduction to Financial Accounting, and Accountancy 1B, an Introduction to Management Accounting as well as a course in economics.
Year 2:
You will study Business Research Methods I: Introduction to Data Analysis, Business Analytics and Information Systems and Career Development Planning. You can also choose from the following courses: Organisational Behaviour; Business Economics; Principles of Finance; Applications of Finance; HR Management; International Business; Marketing; Business Simulation; Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Year 3:
You will study Strategic Management; Management Science and Operations Analytics and Business Research Methods II: Applications and Analysis. In addition you will choose more specialist courses in business and decision analytics.
Year 4:
You will study further specialist courses including Decision Analytics and Mathematical Programming in Advanced Analytics and will complete a dissertation on a topic closely linked to decision sciences.
2025 entry requirements
Standard entry:
5 Highers at AAAAA (by end of S5 preferred) plus English at National 5 at C and Maths at B.
Widening access entry:
4 Highers at ABBB (by end of S6) plus English at National 5 at C and Maths at B. Highers at BBB must be achieved at first sitting in S5.
