Level 1: provides an introduction to psychology as a method of scientific enquiry. The course focuses upon these core themes: social behaviour, cognitive processes, and human abilities and personality. During Level 2 you will learn about more advanced research methods, and classes will introduce you to further central themes in psychology: perception and development, neuropsychology and language. Levels 3 and 4 programmes are designed to consolidate and extend your knowledge of the core topics covered in the first two Levels. You may also take various optional subjects depending on your interests.
2023 entry requirements:
4 Highers at AABB (BBBB for widening access entry) including Maths and a science subject plus English at National 5.
If you wish to choose modules from the School of Life Sciences in Level 1, you must have Higher Biology and Chemistry plus Maths at National 5.
Advanced entry to 2nd year available with Advanced Highers at AB including Maths at A plus Highers at BB (in different subjects).
