Biomedical science focuses on how the human body works, and how to treat or cure it from disease. Biomedical scientists usually work in a laboratory, carrying out tests related to screening, analysis or diagnosis. Content includes:
Molecular DNA technology; Key aspects of microbiology; Immunological techniques; In-depth knowledge of protein structure and function; Biomedical pathology; Human metabolism; Biomedical investigations; Cellular signalling; and, Common techniques used in biochemical laboratories.
HNC Applied Sciences (with a minimum of 15 credits). Interview.
Degree course in a subject such as Applied Biomedical Science, Forensic Investigation or Microbiology.
