This course includes a significant amount of advanced level practical work. It will allow you to develop essential laboratory skills and acts as excellent preparation for progression towards further study or employment.

This course will strengthen your existing knowledge through in-depth study of a variety of key scientific areas centred around organic, inorganic and physical chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physiology microbiology and analytical science. As well as giving you an in-depth knowledge of both chemistry and biology, the course will also give you the opportunity to specialise in particular aspects, for example human metabolism or advanced chemistry.

Entry Requirements

Higher Biology and Chemistry; or Higher Biology or Chemistry and the other at National 5 at B (Foundation Apprenticeship may be accepted in place of 1 Higher). Maths required at National 5 at B; or NC Applied Sciences (Level 6).
