Combining computing & IT with mathematics gives you powerful analytical and technical skills that are in high demand. You’ll build firm foundations in both subjects in the early stages, then deepen your understanding of mathematical methods and modelling alongside a computing focus of your choice. Through your studies, you’ll gain problem-solving, data analysis and software skills, and complete a computing project. If you’re new to study or to the OU, it is recommended that you start with a course at Level 1.
On successful completion of the required number and type of modules you will be awarded a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Computing and IT degree. Depending on which modules you choose the Computing and IT degree may help you to obtain professional recognition from BCS – the Chartered Institute for IT, or from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Both are professional bodies established by royal charter.
