North East Scotland College

Aberdeen City Campus

This course focuses on chemistry and physics, and includes a significant amount of advanced level practical work. The course will allow you to develop essential laboratory skills and acts as excellent preparation for progression towards further study or employment.

This is a wide-ranging course covering the theoretical and practical aspects of modern sciences. You will specialise in two of the major branches of science – Chemistry and Physics.

The course also includes a large amount of training in essential practical skills and modern instrumentation of direct relevance to local and national employers. It is intended both for those candidates wishing to find employment in the science industries, or to progress to further (degree level) study.

Please note that completion of this course will not allow you to progress to year 2 of HND Applied Sciences at NESCol. This progression is only currently available from the Chemistry/Biology route HNC.

Entry Requirements

Higher Chemistry and Physics; or Higher Chemistry or Physics and the other at National 5 (Foundation Apprenticeship may be accepted in place of 1 Higher). Maths required at National 5 at B; or NC Applied Sciences (Level 6).
