You’ll explore many aspects of animal biology on this course, including:
animal behaviour; ecology; evolution; cell biology and physiology; applied aspects of animal conservation and management.

Throughout the animal biology course, you’ll:

Gain laboratory skills such as equipment use and sample processing; learn lab administration skills including result reporting, good laboratory practices and conducting risk assessment; develop in-demand computational skills such as programming, data management and statistics using R, and modelling GIS and remote sensing.

You’ll carry out an independent research project in an area you're passionate about.

As part of the degree in animal biology, you can undertake an optional placement with an organisation.

Entry Requirements

2027 entry requirements:
4 Highers at ABBB including one from Maths, Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

For entry to the 3 year honours degree course, you would need 3 Advanced Highers at ABB including Biology and one from Chemistry, Geography or Physics.
