Why Study a Foundation Apprenticeship?

Studying for a Foundation Apprenticeship gives you the chance to combine work based qualifications such as Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) or National Certificate (NC) with practical work experience in industry.

Who Can Apply?

The Foundation Apprenticeship (FA) in Business Skills is for pupils to begin in S5 and to complete in S6.

Entry Requirements

3-4 subjects at National 5 including English, Maths and preferably a business subject. It is recommended that you work towards relevant Highers by the end of S6.

Course Content

In Year 1 you will complete the following units at college along with a work placement:

Qualifications Gained

You’ll be assessed throughout your FA Business Skills. At the end, you’ll achieve a Foundation Apprenticeship (Group Award) in Business Services at SCQF Level 6, which includes:
