Why Study a Foundation Apprenticeship?

Studying for a Foundation Apprenticeship gives you the chance to combine work based qualifications such as Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) or National Certificate (NC) with practical work experience in industry.

Who Can Apply?

The Foundation Apprenticeship (FA) in Accountancy is for pupils to begin in S5 and to complete in S6.

Entry Requirements

Relevant subjects at National 5. It is recommended that you work towards Higher English, Maths, Accounting, Business Management or Economics by the end of S6.

Course Content

You will achieve a Foundation Apprenticeship (Group Award) in Accountancy at SCQF Level 6 (the same level as Highers), which includes:

National Progression Award (NPA) in Accountancy

3 SVQ work based units: completion of these 3 units will also enable the learner to be awarded the Association of Accounting
