Designed to serve the whole of Ayrshire, the college has three main campuses in Ayr, Kilmarnock and Kilwinning, with around 11,000 students and 900 staff.

Courses offered range from introductory programmes to HND level. All programmes are aimed at preparing students for work, and many include placements so that students can gain relevant work experience. Some courses provide direct entry into degree programmes at a number of universities.

Courses at the college are divided into the following departments: Aeronautical; Art and Design; Computing; Construction Technology; Early Years; Engineering; Hair, Beauty, Complementary Therapies and Make-Up Artistry; Health and Social Care; Horticulture; Hospitality and Professional Cookery; Languages; Motor Vehicles; Music Performance and Sound Production; Performing and Production Arts; Photography and Media; Science; Social Science; Sport and Fitness; Supported Learning; The Hive; Tourism and Events; and Trades.
