On this course, you'll expand on the electrical principles covered in National 6 and Higher level education. During the course you'll be taught by staff with significant industry experience to develop your skills in a range of science disciplines.
Many of the course modules are project based with report writing included in second-year modules. The course is also designed for higher level technicians in the Electrical Engineering Industry which deals with the production, transmission, distribution and application of electricity and the manufacture, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment.
Some of the subjects you will study:
Electrical safety; DC and AC principles; Electrical machine principle; Mathematics for engineers units 1 and 2; Three phase systems; Electricity power systems; and Electrical installation skills.
2 Highers including Maths and preferably Physics; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
Year 3 of relevant degree.
