This course gives you the skills, knowledge and understanding that you’ll need for a career in mechanical engineering.

You will have access to our fully equipped engineering workshop, pneumatic and hydraulic labs and computer labs running industrial CAD software.

All staff have significant engineering experience and a proven track record of bringing out the best in their students.

The Course includes:
Mathematics for Engineering 1; Quality Management an Introduction; Engineering Drawing; Communication; Computer Numerical Control; Statics and Strength of Materials, Engineering Principles; Material Selection; CAD; Thermofluids; Dynamics; Heat Transfer and Fluid mechanics; Graded Unit 1.

There is continuous assessment throughout and an external graded unit examination at the end of the course.

Entry Requirements

Higher English, Maths and Physics; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Aptitude test.
