If your aim is to become a mechanical engineer and work within industries such as oil and gas, renewables, power generation, aerospace, product design and advanced manufacture, then this course will equip you with the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to develop that career path. The course is structured to include a mix of practical and theory-based subjects that will provide you with the tools to function successfully within the engineering field.

The Course includes:

Engineering Maths 1 & 2; Engineering Principles; CNC Machining; Materials Selection; Pneumatics and Hydraulics; Thermofluids; Engineering Drawing; Communications; Computer Aided Draughting for Engineers; Statics and Strength of Materials; Dynamics; IT Applications; Quality Management; Graded Unit Exam.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including Maths and preferably Physics or a technological subject; or NC Manufacturing Engineering (Level 5); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5 or 6. Aptitude test.
