This award provides a strong, supportive introduction to the engineering sector for learners preparing for further study or entry-level employment. Delivered at SCQF Level 4, the programme helps learners develop essential engineering knowledge, practical skills, and the academic confidence needed to progress.

The course builds core competencies in engineering principles, applied mathematics, problem-solving, communication, and safe working practices. Learners are also introduced to a range of engineering pathways and career options, supporting informed progression to higher-level qualifications such as Level 5 NCs and SVQs.

Alongside technical skills, the programme promotes professional behaviours essential for engineering environments, including teamwork, reliability, curiosity, and personal responsibility.
