Combine the study of business with Japanese to prepare for the social, political, environmental and cultural challenges facing contemporary businesses, governments and not-for-profit organisations.
Year 1:
Your studies will provide an introduction to accounting, business and its global environment. You will have the opportunity to undertake an option course from within the Business School or other schools within the University (subject to availability and timetabling constraints).
Depending on your existing knowledge, you will start your Japanese language studies at one of the following levels - beginner, post-beginner or post-intermediate (advanced).
Year 2:
You will broaden your knowledge of essential business subjects and the international environment in which business operates.
You will further develop your Japanese language skills and your understanding of Japanese society and culture.
Year 3:
As you progress to honours level, you will spend Year 3 abroad at a partner university or business school.
You will complete and pass a full year of assessed subjects which align with what you would have studied in Edinburgh. You will also take an equivalent compulsory course in strategic management at the partner university.
Students studying International Business with Japanese will develop their language skills at a partner university in a Japanese-speaking institution and study business courses taught in English.
Year 4:
Your Management Honours Dissertation is central to Year 4. You will choose at least three more specialist honours courses in key areas of international business or one or two honours courses in other subject areas.
