Kickstart your career in fabrication and welding with this 16-week intensive course at Nigg Skills Academy. Delivered in partnership with UHI North, West and Hebrides, you'll complete two nationally recognised qualifications: the NC in Fabrication and Welding and the SVQ in Performing Engineering Operations (SCQF Level 5).
These qualifications provide the essential skills and knowledge needed to progress into a Modern Apprenticeship - a paid training pathway that can lead to being fully qualified in the trade in as little as 18 months to two years.
Throughout the course, you'll gain practical, hands-on experience in welding and fabrication techniques, alongside industry-relevant engineering operations. This intensive programme is designed to prepare you for real-world work in Scotland's expanding energy sector and beyond.
National 4 English, Maths and a science or technological subject, SfW Engineering Skills preferred. Interview.
Successful completion of this course can be used to help you secure employment as a second year apprentice, as the course provides you with the necessary qualifications that satisfy the foundation training for the Modern Apprenticeship in Fabrication and Welding Engineering.
