Content

This course will allow you to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in electrical principles, fundamental electronics, and electrical test equipment and measurement.

You will undertake some degree of specialisation in practical electronics and electronic theory.

The course has been developed to enhance your employability, whether you are entering or progressing within the engineering sector.

The main elements of the course include:

Communication; Mathematics: Craft 1; Engineering: Using Information Technology; Electrical Principles; Fundamental Electronics; Electronic Test Equipment and Measurement; Soldering and Circuit Assembly Techniques; Electronic Simulation and Testing.

Plus a range of optional units including: Semiconductor Applications; Combinational Logic; Practical Electronics; Transformation and Rectification; Computer Aided Draughting; Mathematics: Craft 2.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 including English and Maths; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.
