In this course, you may:

Develop skills in producing components using hand fitting techniques; Utilise a range of hand and portable power tools for tasks like hand sawing, filing, drilling, and riveting.; Work on industrial size lathes to develop turning skills; Learn basic welding processes, including Manual Metal Arc (MMA), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), and Metal Active Gas (MAG); Gain expertise in working with sheet and plate metal; Build transferable Essential Skills, like communication, numeracy, ICT, teamwork, and problem-solving
enhance your IT skills, covering word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and graphics.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 3, preferably including English and Maths, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 3. Interview and aptitude test.

Progression Routes

Modern apprenticeship or an SVQ Performing Engineering Operations course at Level 5
