Prestwick has now become a Spaceport and a first launch is due in late 2023 / early 2024. Scotland has a well-established and growing space industry. Satellite manufacturing is a high-profile industry focusing on the design, manufacture and now launch of satellites.

This course introduces you to the many different aspects of Space and Aerospace. It’s mainly a theory-based course, although there are some practical modules too.

The course looks at the fundamentals of Space Engineering and Science and you will also look at engineering materials, Physics, Maths and Chemistry.

You’ll develop your maths knowledge within an Space and Aeronautical engineering context, and you will also expand on your IT knowledge.

In the workshop, you’ll develop basic hand skills relating to the space industry.

Entry Requirements

4 relevant subjects at National 5 including Maths and Physics; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF level 5. Entry by interview.
