Do you want to work in Scotland’s Electronics industry? Indeed, do you want a highly paid job that can take you anywhere in the world while working in an exciting and respected industry?

The HNC Electronic Engineering course will develop your ability to analyse and solve electrical engineering problems, and apply knowledge, understanding and skills to analyzing and designing electronic systems, but also has a strong emphasis on practical skills and is intended for those interested in developing skills for a highly paid career in this exciting and respected industry.

You will study:
Engineering theory, plus extensive hands on hardware and software work.

Electronic Engineering Theory includes:
Electrical Principles; Power Systems and Power Electronics; Control Systems and Transducers; Mathematics (including Mathematics options for university entrance).

Practical hands on work includes:
Software Programming in C++; Programmable Logic Controllers; Electrical and Electronic Instruments; Analogue and Digital Electronics; Power Supply Circuits.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths or Physics; or Higher in a technological subject plus Maths at National 5; or Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Entry by informal interview.
