This course aims to provide learners with a solid foundation in the underpinning knowledge of industrial measurement and control principles and enables progression to higher level study.

Content includes:
Measurement technology: Pressure/Level; Measurement technology: Temperature; Measurement technology: Flow; Process control; Process control systems; Practical instrumentation skills; Fault finding in measurement and control systems; Hazards, protection methods and functional safety;
Signal conditioning; Programmable logic controllers; Robotic and automated systems; Complex control systems; Applying information technology; Mathematics technician 1; Communications

Entry Requirements

National 5 English, Maths and a science or technological subject (preferably Physics); or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview.
