This NQ level 5 course covers all the subjects required for an NC but also has a strong emphasis on practical skills and is intended for those interested in developing skills for a career in the fast developing mechanical and manufacturing engineering industry.

You will study:

Mechanical/Manufacture Theory, plus hands on practical work.

Mechanical/Manufacture Theory:
Mechanical Engineering Principles; Engineering Manufacture Principles; Engineering Materials - Mathematics; Computer aided Draughting (CAD).

Practical hands on work:
Material Removal Practice (Turning and Milling); CNC Machining; Engineering Workshop Skills; Engineering, Engineering Project.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4; or NQ Engineering (Level 4); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4
