The NQ Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (Level 5) course gives you a solid introduction to engineering theory while focusing on the practical skills used across Scotland’s fast-growing manufacturing sector.

You’ll learn in our fully equipped laboratories and workshops, applying classroom theory directly through projects that bring engineering to life. Recent students have designed, built and raced robot cars, developing real-world problem-solving and teamwork skills.

You will study:

Mechanical Engineering Principles; Engineering Materials; Engineering Mathematics; Computer aided Draughting (CAD); Material Removal Practice (Turning and Milling); Engineering Workshop Skills; Engineering Project.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 including English; or NQ Engineering (Level 4); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4
