Content

We partner with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) to offer this innovative enhanced HNC-level Pathway course. It gives you the chance to work as a graduate apprentice, or potentially move onto one of GCU’s engineering degrees. During this exciting course, you’ll study all aspects of electronic engineering theory, from testing to principles of electricity, as well as maths modules. There’s also plenty of practical experience as you learn about engineering programming, circuit assembly and electronic soldering.

Subjects studied on the BEng (Hons) / BEng Engineering (Design and Manufacture) pathway course include:

Electrical and electronic theory:
Electronic testing skills; Analogue electronic principles; DC and AC principles; Combinational logic; Networks and resonance; Communication skills; Active electronic circuits; Graded unit; Engineering software; Sequential logic; Engineering: Mathematics 1; Engineering: Mathematics 2; Engineering: Mathematics 3; Engineering: Mathematics 4.

Practical hands on work:
Engineering programming; Electrical and electronic testing and measurement; Microcontrollers; Electronic soldering and circuit assembly; WorldSkills: Industrial electronics.
