On this course you will gain a large amount of practical experience in both electrical and electronic engineering. You will be introduced to the basic concepts while also covering hand skills required in electrical engineering. You will study mathematics and develop your Core Skills in IT and communications, improving your chances of gaining an apprenticeship or entry to a higher level course.
You will study: Electrical principles; Fundamental electrical systems; Electrical testing and measurement; Electrical wiring skills; Electrical plant safety maintenance; Fundamental electronics; Circuit element devices; Installation of PVC sheathed wiring systems; Installation of trunking systems; Engineering project; The Core Skills of ICT, numeracy and communication will be developed and certificated on this course.
3 subjects at National 4 including English, Maths and a science or technological subject; or Certificate: Introduction to Engineering and Technology EAL Level 1. Interview. Aptitude Test.
