This electrical engineering course will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to progress to the HNC Electrical Engineering course. Alternatively you may seek employment as a Modern Apprentice.

It is also suitable if you already work as an engineering and would like to up-skill.

Core Units:
Communication Core Skill Unit; Mathematics: Technician 1; Engineering: Applying Information Technology.

Mandatory Units:
Electrical Principles; Fundamental Electrical Systems; Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations; Single and Three Phase Induction Motors; Electrical Testing and Measurement.

Optional Units:
Earthing and Earth Fault Current Protection; Engineering Project; Electrostatics and Electromagnetism; Transformation and Rectification.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including Maths and a science or technological subject. Applications are also invited from those without formal qualifications but who have relevant life and/or work experience.
