The HNC Electrical Engineering (Day Release) at Glasgow Kelvin College provides a strong understanding of how electrical systems are designed, maintained, and managed across modern industries. You’ll explore electrical circuits, machines, power systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) while gaining essential experience with test equipment and electrical safety systems.

Subjects Include:
Electrical Principles; Electrical Machines; Power Systems; Three Phase Systems; Programmable Logic Controllers; High Voltage Electrical Safety; Network Analysis; Mathematics.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths or Physics, or a Higher in a technological subject plus National 5 Maths, or Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

Progression Routes

HND course. It is also possible to infill on to our HND course and convert your HNC to an HNC over two years day release.
