This course is for those wanting to pursue a career in electrical engineering at technician level, or as an engineer after completing a university degree.

The course includes:

DC, single phase and three-phase systems; Electrical machines; Mathematics; Analysis of electrical networks and electrical resonance; Programmable logic controllers; Electricity generation and transmission.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including Maths, or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5 or 6. Entry by interview and presentation.

Progression Routes

Employment in electrical engineering field or progression to university. Those progressing on to university can work in design, research and development and the management of electrical systems.
