You will gain knowledge and expertise in areas such as single phase AC circuits, electrical machine principles, three phase systems, electricity power systems, electrical networks, electrical testing, engineering mathematics, engineering communication. The course is designed to give students a firm grounding in electrical engineering subjects, and includes a practical content, allowing students to gain an understanding and experience of real engineering.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths and one other relevant Higher; or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship; or NC Electrical Engineering (Level 6). Entry by interview and short practical test.

Progression Routes

Employment in electrical engineering field or progression to university. Those progressing on to university can work in design, research and development and the management of electrical systems.
