Practical, one-year course for those wanting to work in the fabrication and welding industry. There are opportunities in oil- and gas-related industries and manufacturers of metal parts and equipment.

The course includes:

Different types of welding and materials; Workshop skills - correct use of hand-tools; Manufacturing components from engineering drawings, on lathes and milling machines; Measuring; Health and safety; Computer-aided design; Mathematics.

Entry Requirements

Subjects at National 4 including Maths. Interview and aptitude test.

Progression Routes

NC Level 6 and HNC/D is possible.
