The NQ Electrical Engineering Level 6 course is designed to give you the basic knowledge needed to jump-start your career in the electrical industry, whether it's a more hands-on practical role you are looking for, or a more design-based engineering one.

The course includes:
Electrical Principles; Fundamentals of Electrical Systems; Mathematics; Installation of PVC Wiring Systems; Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations; Electrical Testing and Measurement; Cabl; Ratings and Overcurrent Protection Devices; Single and Three Phase Principles; Engineering Project; Communication: Practical Skills; Fault Finding on Low Voltage Electrical Equipment.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5 including Maths, or NQ Electrical Install (Level 5) or NQ SECTT Pre-Apprentices (Level 5). Interview. Pre-entry tests.

Progression Routes

Successful applicants can move onto an apprenticeship or to higher education with the aim of becoming an electrical engineer
