West College Scotland was formed in August 2013 from a merger between Clydebank College, James Watt College (Greenock) and Reid Kerr College. Its aim is to create a vibrant and innovative college, with greater choice and better services and facilities for the local communities and wider west region.

The college has three main campuses at Clydebank, Greenock and Paisley. It has 30,000 students and 1,200 staff.

Courses and Subjects

The college offers courses leading to a range of qualifications from National Certificate (NC) and National Qualification (NQ) through to degrees. Vocational and professional qualifications are also available.

There are over 400 courses to choose from in the following areas: Acting and Technical Theatre; Art, Design, Graphics and Animation; Beauty and Complementary Therapies; Building Services; Business, Administration and Accounting; Child Care; Computing and Games; Construction; Dance; Engineering and Electronics; ESOL; Hairdressing; Health and Safety; Health and Social Care; Hospitality and Professional Cookery; Interior Architecture; Make-Up Artistry; Media, TV and Radio; Motor Vehicle; Music and Music Business; Nursing; Photography; Science; Social Sciences; Sound Production and DJ’ing; Sport; and Travel and Tourism.

Facilities and Services

There is a range of facilities across the three campuses, including: libraries with PCs and printing services; bookshop; refectories and cafes; training restaurants; hairdressing and beauty salons; sports facilities; and engineering and construction workshops.

Learner support is available at all campuses and there is an advice centre at Greenock.
