Shetland College UHI is a student centred college whose aim is to provide high quality learning to meet the needs of learners throughout the various islands that make up Shetland. It is an academic partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI).
The main campus is located in Gremista, Lerwick, the main town in Shetland. There are also a number of local learning centres spread throughout the islands, delivering a varied programme of learning opportunities to all parts of Shetland.
Courses and Subjects
There are courses at various levels, from National Qualification (NQ) and Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) right through to degree and postgraduate.
Subject areas include: Business and Hospitality; Computing; Construction; Creative Industries; ESOL; Essential Skills; Health and Care; Heritage; and Skills for Work/Vocational Pathways.
Facilities and Services
The main campus has a well equipped library and a canteen.
Learning and teaching facilities include the textile facilitation unit, recording studio, multi-media production and teaching lab, rehearsal spaces, a venue for musical performance, large carpentry and joinery workshop and training kitchen.
Student support for a wide range of issues and needs is available.
