Dumfries and Galloway College is located in the south of Scotland. The main campus is situated in Dumfries, with another campus in the town of Stranraer, 75 miles to the west of Dumfries.
The college teaches around 9,000 students every year.
Courses and subjects
Courses at the college are grouped under a range of different subject areas including: Built Environment; Business, Accounting and Computing; Computing; Creative Industries; Education Studies and Supported Programmes; Engineering and Automotive; Hairdressing and Beauty; Health and Social Services; Hospitality and Sport; Motor Vehicle; and Sport and Fitness.
Courses lead to a range of qualifications from introductory level to HND. Links with the Universities of Glasgow and the West of Scotland, and the Open University mean there are good progression routes for students.
Facilities and services
Campus facilities and services include a modern library in both campuses with internet access and study spaces, as well as hair and beauty training salons. Both campuses have a joinery workshop. Dumfries Campus has a sports hall and a well equipped fitness suite, and also fully equipped electrical and brick workshops for training.
The college has a strong articulation links with the University of Glasgow, Crichton Campus in Dumfries.
