The emphasis of this course is on discovering various photography styles and learning what you love about photography. This will be done through project based work which involves research of other photographers and ends with your own photographic interpretation showing the skills that you have gained. During this course there may be opportunities to work on live projects with real clients.

You can expect to gain experience in the following areas:

Camera techniques, theory and equipment; Portraiture and still life studio photography; Branding and marketing photography; Landscapes, street photography and natural history; Post production using industry standard software including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge; Presentation skills and how to produce professional quality prints.

You will learn how to set up professional lighting in a studio using industry-standard equipment and learn how to use specialist equipment for basic Applied (Forensic) Photography.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher; or NQ Photography (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Portfolio and interview.
