The course develops your creativity and understanding of the design process through a series of integrated subjects. Design projects are developed from the research to concept stage, to sketch design, and finally to the completion of technical drawings ready for presentation to a client.
The course is predominantly studio-based with a combination of group work, site visits, lectures, practical demonstrations and tutorial.
Creating a portfolio of your work; Working with live clients; How the interiors of building are used and experienced; Design processes; How to develop a project from research and concept development to presenting to a client; Sketch design; Technical drawings; Model making; CAD; Perspective drawing and rendering; Exhibition design; 3D computer modelling and simulated walk-through virtual environments.
1 Higher, preferably in Art and Design, plus 2 subjects at National 5; NC Interior Architecture and Design; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Informal interview at which you must bring samples of your work.
