You will develop skills in various techniques of handling ceramic, jewellery and art glass materials. You'll develop your design and drawing skills and understand the practical applications of various media, firing techniques and the use of workshop and studio equipment.

Although a mostly practical course, you'll learn research skills, complete written work and work with digital media. Our blended learning model means there will be smaller groups of focused face to face classes on campus, with classes coming together for online learning. There is a strong ethos of ethical making and sustainability, which will be embedded into your learning.

What you study:

Sculpture techniques; Exploratory media handling; Creative hand-built shapes; Colour; Analytical drawing; Sketchbook development; Problem solving; Contextual studies; Digital media; and Art glass - copper foil.

Entry Requirements

English and Art and Design at National 5. Portfolio of work is required. All applicants will be invited for interview.
