Content

Guided by professional practitioners, you will sample a range of specialities within the creative industries, including: Drawing; Graphic design; Illustration; Context and colour; Digital media; Painting; Photograpy; Animation and video.

The studio environment encourages sharing of ideas and understanding, and nurtures a supportive work and social environment. The majority of your time will be spent on project-based activities and learning fundamental practical and critical skills, creating a transition between work that you have carried out at school and potential future study in a specialist art, design or lens based subject.

In this course you will also study five Core Skills including communication, ICT and numeracy, which can help you to gain the essential skills required for life, learning and employment.

Entry Requirements

Higher or National 5 Art and Design preferred. Entry by interview and portfolio.

Progression Routes

HNC/D Visual Communication or Contemporary Art Practice.
