Content

This programme has a central focus of building a strong portfolio of creative art and design materials. You will explore a full range of creative subjects and will be encouraged to experiment to develop your knowledge and skills, as well as an impressive portfolio. A proportion of your studies will be self-directed, allowing for the development of critical thinking, planning and self-evaluation skills. You will also be taught skills such as time management and professional studio practice.

Course work will have some theoretical content, but the main emphasis will be on the development of Art and Design disciplines in a practical environment. The areas covered will include Observational and Developmental Drawing, Painting across a variety of media in studio and location settings, Digital Media, Creative Process, Ceramics, Printmaking and Sculpture.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers, preferably in English and Art and Design, or NC Art and Design. A portfolio of work must be shown at interview. You may be asked to complete an arts based skills task as part of your interview.
