This course is an innovative course designed to nurture your creative potential and build your knowledge in the arts industry. This course will prepare you for a successful career as a visual artist. You will immerse yourself in subjects on 2D, 3D and fine art using cutting-edge technology. Upon successful completion you are guaranteed entry onto BA (Hons) Fine Art at the University of Cumbria where you will develop your fine art skills and knowledge even further.

Discover the rich history of arts and delve into modern teachings in drawing, visual thinking, life drawing, painting, printmaking, conceptual development, sculpture and digital media. You will use the Edinburgh College school of art studios and Mac laboratories to gain hands-on experience in the arts industry. You will be given your very own studio space at the beginning of the course to design, develop and create at. You will respond to a range of creative project briefs designed to challenge, stimulate and inspire you and receive guest lectures from visiting artists.

Content: Developmental drawing; Contemporary 2D Practice; Contemporary 3D Practice; Conceptual Processes; Digital Art Form.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers; or Art and Design Diploma Level 3 (UAL); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview and portfolio.
