Throughout this graphic design course, students will be supported in developing their creative ability and technical knowledge through a range of practical projects and creative briefs. Students will gain an extensive understanding of the design process, develop their own creative concepts, learn technical software skills and produce finished design work both printed and digitally.
Students will work in our high quality studios and facilities (using Adobe Creative Cloud) and will also benefit from working on live projects with external clients as well as experiencing studio visits and guest speakers.
This course will prepare students for a career in the exciting and fast paced world of graphic design.
Content:
Graphic Design; Illustration; Digital Imaging; Typography; Photography; New Media; Portfolio Production; Printmaking; Desktop Publishing.
2 Highers including Art and Design and preferably English plus National 5 English (if not held at Higher), or Foundation Apprenticeship Creative and Digital Media plus Higher Art and Design, or relevant qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Portfolio submission and interview.
