This programme will enable students to learn and practice all of the skills needed to kick-start a career in photography. Learning from knowledgeable, experienced and award-winning staff, candidates will learn all of the practical and theoretical skills needed to begin working towards a successful career in photography, with a particular focus on digital skills.

Learners will be expected to enhance their theoretical and contextual understanding of photography and presentation skills. Students will create a portfolio of their work across social, corporate, documentary photography and photo-journalism and will gain skills working with photographic studio flash equipment.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers, including Art and Design or Photography, English preferred plus National 5 English (if not held at Higher), or Foundation Apprenticeship Creative and Digital Media plus Higher Art, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. A digital portfolio of work must be submitted prior to interview.
