The NQ Art & Design: Digital Media Foundation (Level 5) at Glasgow Kelvin College, East End campus, is designed for students with a keen interest in art and design who are eager to build their skills and confidence.
You’ll explore a wide range of subjects including drawing, painting, design, illustration, printmaking, mixed media, and digital software skills. Alongside practical projects, you’ll also work on sketchbooks, portfolio development, self-promotion, and communication skills — all essential for future study or employment.
Key areas include:
Drawing & Painting – building core observational and creative skills; Design & Illustration – experimenting with design principles and visual storytelling; Mixed Media & Printmaking – exploring different approaches and materials; Digital Software Skills – learning creative digital tools to support your work; Portfolio Development – creating a body of work to showcase your abilities.
