Students will learn skills and techniques necessary to create precious metal jewellery. The focus will be on learning and developing practical jewellery making skills. Students will also be encouraged to develop their own creative ideas and will be taught how to translate these ideas into finished, 3D pieces of jewellery.

The course will cover basic areas such as metal forming, piercing, soldering, stone setting, jewellery design and CAD. By the end of the course students will have produced a substantial body of work and have gained confidence and skill to work with precious metals and produce their own individual style of jewellery.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5, preferably including Art and Design, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Portfolio.
