This course will teach you a comprehensive range of skills with a design-led focus. You'll study specialist practical techniques which can be found in the 'What you Study' section, below.
The course focus is on marrying new technology with traditional techniques – pushing boundaries of material exploration, and developing skills in emerging technologies with access to Laser cutting and 3D Printing. Using a wide range of materials, processes and concepts you will develop innovative design skills.
You'll study subjects including:
Wax Carving and Casting; Experimental Techniques including Enamelling; CAD 3D Modelling and Prototyping; Advanced Stone Setting; Alternative Materials; Design Skills.
Higher Art and Design plus National 5 English, or relevant NQ, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. A portfolio of your work is required. All applicants will be invited for interview.
