Content

This course includes both traditional and innovative art practices. It gives you a broad visual education in contemporary art practice.

You'll develop your skills in a range of specialist disciplines and increase your awareness and knowledge of conceptual thinking. It also gives you the opportunity to develop and strengthen a portfolio of artwork.

You'll study:

Developmental drawing; Art and design context; Introduction to digital form art; Conceptual process; 2D practice; 3D practice; Painting; Sculpture; Life drawing; Printmaking; Photography; a graded unit.

Entry Requirements

Higher English and Art and Design plus 2 subjects at National 4; or NQ Art and Design: Fine Art Portfolio. Interview and portfolio of work required.

Progression Routes

Relevant HND or art school or university degree courses such as BA (Hons) Contemporary Art Practice run jointly by City of Glasgow College and University of the West of Scotland
